Pasture Flowers
Cheryl Mocadlo
Often mistaken for oils, Cheryl Mocadlo's acrylic paintings are known for their visual aesthetic - life-like imagery and rich color palette. She enjoys celebrating nature’s beauty, hence her partiality to landscapes and organics. By layering pigments with varying degrees of opacity and a range of application techniques, Mocadlo achieves a depth of color that creates interest and movement. For her, the most exciting part of painting is the moment when the canvas comes to life - no longer a two-dimensional image, but a destination to walk into or an object to reach out and hold her hand.
This image was captured along a rural Wisconsin road. These roadside flowers often announce the return of summer and Mocadlo hopes this reminds you to find beauty wherever it exists.
